The 22nd of November of 2013 the Government approved the Maritime Navigation Draft Bill, which aims to update the field’s regulation and overcome international treaties and Spanish legislation current contradictions. According with the Justice Ministry press note, among the amendments objectives are the following:
  • Updates Spanish regulation, provides legal certainty and reflects today’s maritime transport reality.
  • Strengthen Subaquatic wealth protection and enhances illegal immigration and contamination fights.
  • Regulates ship’s utilization agreements and navigation auxiliaries.
  • Lays down dispositions for shipbuilding contracts and brings changes in ship’s sales and purchases.
