If you are a British citizen with a property in Spain you may be wondering how all these changes will affect you. Well, apparently they will not have any particular effect in terms of pensions, health, and mobility, at least for a while.

Britain has yet to trigger Article 50, and after that, they will have two years to renegotiate deals with the EU. Until the end of that period everything will remain essentially the same. Some experts even estimate that this whole process is likely to take anything up to 10 years, so we can breathe easy for a while.

Last Thursday 7th July 2016, Mr. Simon Manley, the British Ambassador in Spain, held a conference at ‘Foro Nueva Murcia’.  Abad & Asociados was represented there by its director, Mr. Isaac Abad, who took the opportunity to hold a private conversation with Mr. Manley on this matter. The Ambassador stated that the official motto is “KEEP CALM”, which confirms that the best option for the time being is to be patient and wait to see how it all develops.
